Course Title: Cultivating Mindfulness as a Daily Practice

Course Description 

Each person has their own reason for learning about mindfulness and/or meditation, and whatever it is, whatever their intention is, it serves as the seed that will be nourished by the deep silence and possibility both bring to the spirit. When utilized as a teaching-learning tool in the clinic and/or educational environment the benefits of mindfulness unfold organically.

This session will take a close look at the Person-Environment-Occupation-Performance (PEOP) Model and how it informs a mindful practitioner-client relationship. Specifically, it will explore how practitioners can assist clients (and self) construct mindful meditation, mantras, and technology tools to utilize when they feel overwhelmed with their everyday roles & responsibilities.

Technology utilized to assist with the meaningful occupation of mindfulness include the use of apps, interactive websites, YouTube videos, and TED talks to ensure everyone has immediate access to information that will assist in building a capacity to pause and contemplate a stressor, utilize the source, and re-center to live life to its fullest®.
